Hangar Flying - HL 320

Pete Reed sent me this. It is dual screen comparison of two carrier qual landings. One in daylight and one in the dark. Short & quick.

 Day vs Night Carrier Landing
All this plus always low on fuel!! The Brits have the right idea. No night ops. Adjourn to the bar instead!

A good illustration of the differences in carrier aviation. It's night and day... I never heard a Navy pilot say he enjoyed night traps. The closest it came was, "Well, you sort of get used to it..."

Every once in a while a civilian will ask me if I miss it. I always give the same honest answer, that given enough FCLP (field carrier landing practice) time. I might give it a go on a nice calm sunny day, but they haven’t printed enough money yet to get me back out there at night.
