Delta plans to hire 1,300 pilots and 2,500 flight attendants next year

Delta Air Lines plans to hire more than 1,300 pilots in 2020, which the company said is its largest round of hiring in a single year in more than two decades.

Atlanta-based Delta said it will be hiring pilots for crew bases in Atlanta, New York, Minneapolis, Detroit, Seattle and elsewhere. The airline said it's part of a broader effort to hire more than 8,000 pilots over the next decade as pilots retire, and as the company grows with a record number of customers.

Delta also plans to hire at least 2,500 flight attendants in 2020, the highest in the airline's 95-year history.

Comments It hasn't changed a bit in the last 30-40 years. WRONG!! Almost as good as the MANDATORY tour of the PSA "Stew" lounge after a LAX layover-

Personal CFII Renewal
For years as an active 121 Captain, I could get my CFI biennial renewal done with a simple phone call and an IACRA form.  But now as a retired guy if I want to keep the CFI I need to go to a weekend training session or do a online course called an FIRC.  Well, I chose a provider called ACECfi which doesn’t have any bells or whistles but allows for a lifetime fee for around $150 and it went ok.  Once finished and I used their electronic submission I was able to print out my Temporary within a couple of hours.  So all in all rather painless.
Remote (Drone) Pilot License:  The FAA is changing a number of things with pilot certification and currency.  A licensed fixed wing pilot was able to take an online course and then be recommended by a recommending instructor, such as myself, and whaalah ……be a licensed drone pilot.  I think this still may be available for a short time, but will soon change.  If interested, in getting some help with this license, just let me know.
