Mark
Thanks for the fine job with the PCN blog over the past
years. I know it is time consuming and not easy to do. I think the time
has come to change course. Even though I accepted the crime that was done
to me and the thousands of other pilots I will ever forget or forgive what they
did.
I think you consider ending the blog and forming a Facebook
page aptly titled to show the world what Delta did to MILITARY VETERANS who
served their country and devoted their lives to DAL. We need to play the
veterans card. No one cares about Delta pilots but EVERYONE cares about our
veterans. You have the emails to get this started, lets do it. Once it
is started your part will go away and I believe this will take on a life
of its own. No longer will we have to hear " I didn't think they
could do this to your retirement" when I tell someone what happened.
Best regards
Marty

Editor: Marty, I am a
guy that says “all of the above” when it comes to things to try with
management. As we all know the DP3 is
focusing on the government and challenging the PBGC. The Petition led by Rob Moser focused on the
non-qualified losses and tried the direct approach and met with senior
management. Now that Bastian is in charge,
I have heard a number of ideas to approach the “new” leadership. Your idea with the focus on the shortchanging
of vets, is equally intriguing. I am
willing to collaborate on any effort, but I just don’t have the creative juices
nor the drive left to lead one. So
should anyone get a viable approach started I will happily jump on board and
even offer resources that the PCN has.

I am proud to have a brother like
you. Thank you for your service to our country.
You may have served in Combat or in non-combat.
You may have retired out or
you may have served for a short time.
You may have been a draftee or a volunteer.
You may have served in the Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or the Merchant Marines,
You may have been a draftee or a volunteer.
You may have served in the Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or the Merchant Marines,
BUT YOU SERVED. YOU DID
YOUR JOB HONORABLY and for that I am PROUD to call you Brother.
You may have served during
Korea, WWII,. Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Iraq or Afghanistan, But you served, you
did not run.
You have a DD 214 with
those words "HONORABLY DISCHARGED" two of the most noble words in the
world.
Again I am proud to know
each and every one of you.
* Today is Band of
Brothers' Day* ; send this to all your brothers, fathers, sons and fellow
veterans you know. Happy Brothers' Day!
To the cool men that have
touched my life: Here's to you!! I was never a hero, but I am thankful and
proud to have served among them.

For those of you who
have Coca Cola stock and just got your proxy statement, a reminder that this is
a good time to vote against Ron Allen for Director. Have to have
some fun in the spring now that Leo is not in the running at JNJ any more.

Straight to the heart…… 25 March 2016
My brother died three days ago. Actually, he was my step-brother and at that only for ten years as my father wandered through four wives. Gino and I were pals.
Gino Greatti III was a pilot of the first order. Learning to fly before he could drive he followed my footsteps through college, USAF pilot training, C-130 and C-5 service and finally commercial aviation becoming a captain with Northwest and ultimately a 7ER captain with Delta. He loved flying. On long term disability for many years he finally (and mostly to get out of the house) applied and was accepted as an instructor with Delta Ground Services. He would have been a great instructor but in the end he lost to the cancer he heroically fought. The young men he would have instructed have lost.
Delta Air Lines is a large-cap company, an octopus with influence in many arenas as is the Air Line Pilots Association. With the bombings in Brussels on the front page and much to find worrisome in the world, Delta or ALPA sent a uniformed pilot to Gino’s home to offer assistance and solace. The pilot stayed four hours and returned the following day. His contribution was immeasurable not only for his shared information but because he represented the brotherhood of pilots, especially Delta pilots. In reality it’s not clear if the pilot was sent by Delta or ALPA but the result was the same; a thoughtful and useful event. It doesn’t matter who gets the credit because in the end it was a beautiful contribution to a grieving family.
I speak for the family in thanking those responsible for this grand act of kindness. I’m grateful to be a part of this wonderful family.
