Hangar Flying - HL 239 (2)

Sent to me by a friend, thought I would publish in honor of my recently departed father who flew the P-61 and was preparing as CO of a newly created squadron of the 450th when V-J Day happened and the war was over.

The Annual ORD Delta Pilot's Fly In was once again a fantastic success!  Many thanks to the McGreevy's - all of them- for hosting and all the work they did for this great get together.  The weather was perfect and Steve McGreevy Jr and his wife have a fantastic place and hanger there at Poplar Grove Airport, IL.

There were just over 40 Delta pilots, mechanics, agents and flight attendants with a total of over 80 people enjoying this great annual event.  15 airplane flew in and another 3 or 4 are keep on the field there.  Along with the 15 airplanes we had 2 motorcycles and many great looking fancy cars make it too. The food was awesome!!!

Next year's ORD Delta Pilot's Fly In, which is always held on the 2nd Wednesday of September will be at Captain Jim Adams place.  Hope to see you there!!

Again thanks to the McGreevy's and all those that helped to make this a great success.  Oh, and I send thanks to Captain Ray Bye for letting me fly co-pilot for him in his beautiful Cirrus to the fly in.
And Thanks to all that made it there.  Enjoy the pictures,  David W. Skjerven
