Dear PCN (of over 2600 subscribers),
Sorry
about the slight publishing delay: I was fortunate enough to spend a little very needed and valuable
time with family and nature in N. Lower Michigan and am happy to report it
helped recharge the battery. Sorry for
the slight delay.
Policy
on Privacy Review:
1. Data Base: First, your membership is
NEVER confirmed in the PCN until I can verify that you are a qualified
member. Because of that, WE HAVE NO UNWANTEDS
or SPAMMERS IN OUR GROUP! Then, ALL personal
info is not only religiously guarded but NEVER shared directly with
anyone! If someone asks for your contact
info to me directly then I contact you with this request and it is up to you
whether the contact is made or not.
2. HighLife Posts: First, the links to HL PDF version and the Blog are NOT
PUBLIC. Links to these issues are for members
only and how that is accomplished is they are only available through
notices directly emailed to our “private” group. No, there isn’t a password
access set up on the blog, but few if any general public will ever find our
page. Some of you may not be informed about the
steps that I have taken to protect against sharing info publicly.
3. Your Email Address on
Posts: Here is
the PCN policy again. IF YOU EMAIL ME A
POST YOUR NAME & EMAIL WILL BE INCLUDED ON IT TO OUR PRIVATE GROUP. If you are careless enough to include the addresses
or cellphones of others, I try my very best to “scrub” those from the post
before publishing again to our “private” group.
If you do not include your name, I reluctantly include anonymous posts
and believe that if you are bold enough to offer a post than you should be bold
enough to attach your name. AGAIN, please understand that our newsletter and
mail is not public and available to view by link ONLY through private email
notices.
4. EXCEPTIONS TO YOUR
INFO INCLUSION OR YOUR EMAILING BEING POSTED: If you are a PCN
member and email me, I cannot remember your privacy wishes from months ago
since we have a group of over 2600. If
you wish your email or your contact info in your email to remain off the PCN,
then you must include “DO NOT PUBLISH THIS EMAIL or MY CONTACT INFO” in EVERY email that you wish to keep from
sharing with the PCN.
I am not trying to scare anyone or keep you
from emailing in posts but you have to
understand that when you tell me months ago that our discussion is to remain
private, that can’t possibly remain in my puny little mind with the volume of
emails and contributors I get. So, if
you want all or some of your post
private, YOU MUST TELL ME IN THAT SPECIFIC EMAIL. Thank you.
Fair enough?

To Copy A Post:

Subject: Blogspot
Mark; Every now and then I like to make a
copy of 1 or more articles from the PCN. I usually view it from the Google
connection, but have trouble just high lighting 1 article. If I hold down the
mouse and drag it through the article, it turns the WHOLE newsletter blue.
Don't want that. If I just do part of the article [highlighting once again],
there is NO function to "copy". Only "select all". Decided
to try it from the the Blogspot link. Get the main page for about 5 seconds and
then it goes to Yahoo search.
Just tried again using the Google site and get an error page-

Editor: Joel, copying a post from either
format should readily be available.
Let’s talk;
Copying
from the PDF from the Google Drive first.
First and foremost, the HighLife is a PDF file at the Google Drive. If you are familiar with PDF files they were
created and used extensively to “protect” the content from editing, copying or
changing in any way. That said there
are ways to copy a PDF. When you open it
if it loads the basic version of Adobe Acrobat then you may have limitations on
copying or saving. My computer uses Firefox
Mozilla as my browser and when I open the PDF HL version from that site it
opens it “inside” my browser. The
browser allows me to highlight and copy line by line, just what you want. So either try using another browser OR
download the Firefox Foxit PDF reader and make it the default reader and it
gives you a whole lot more functions.
Last thing you can do is to “download” via the top center arrow icon,
the whole High Life newsletter to your hard drive than you can copy, split or
otherwise share individual posts.
As to
the Blog: There
are just a whole host of online tools that currently do not work well with
Microsoft Internet Explorer. Again, I am
now using Mozilla. When the blog is
viewed with any browser, it takes a few seconds to completely load and you must
wait. After it is loaded you should be
able to drag a cursor while holding down the left mouse button to “highlight”
the section you wish to copy. Then push
the Ctrl and “C” key at the same time and the highlighted section will be
copied to your clipboard and ready to paste into a document or email. However, the Blog has other great features in
an Icon menu located bottom left of each section. This Icon menu bar allows the reader to share
via email, facebook, twitter, or other means.

I think the Roth IRA deserves more consideration. When inflation returns, natural resource stocks should go up due to inflation. In a Roth, you won't pay taxes on any inflation component;you don't even have to make withdrawals.
Also, in GA, a minor can make contracts at age 18, and at 21 he can demand any funds held in his name by a custodian. Something to think about.
