Employees encouraged to 'Fly Right' and protect pass travel benefits
April 23, 2014
Delta launched its “Fly Right” campaign Wednesday to raise awareness on the misuse of employee pass travel privileges.
The focus of the campaign is to stop the abuse by investigating probable cases and reinforcing the correct uses for pass travel. Through the campaign, the airline will protect the vast majority of employees who use pass privileges correctly and continue to create a great place to work for Delta people.
“Pass travel privileges allow us to see the world with our close family and friends, and it is rightfully considered a highly valued perk,” said Mike Campbell, e.v.p. –Human Resources and Labor Relations, in a memo to all employees. “We all have the responsibility to maintain the highest standards and integrity with this privilege, and the vast majority of us do just that. However, over the past few years, we have found an increasing number of individuals who are abusing these privileges, harming our brand and our bottom line.”
As part of the campaign, Delta is introducing the Pass Protection Group, a dedicated team of investigators created to proactively identify cases of probable abuse and investigate them thoroughly. The PPG has already identified a number of cases of suspected fraud and will soon begin the process of following up with employees involved, adhering to a thorough and objective investigation process before any action is taken.
“As we learn from these investigations, we may pursue some policy, process, or technology changes in the future that will help stop abuse in the system,” Mike said.
