Subject Eric's Story - MRSA Epidemic - Warn your friends!
Hi everyone
Re: MSSA - Methicillin Sensitive Staphylococcus Aureus
- MRSA is the sister bacteria but instead of being sensitive to
antibiotics it is resistant, hence MRSA.
Eric was lucky he had MSSA, 3 months in hospital and best
part of the year to recover has been no fun but at least he is alive. Praise
God for that!
Since Eric having been taken ill with MSSA, I have met
several people right here in Laguna Beach who have had the same thing, most
were hospitalized, near death for 2 months but survived, others were not
so lucky. One guy got it from a splinter in his foot, another 17 year old
cause unknown, next street to us a guy got it doing the garden, Eric was most
likely the garden too, A guy having fun on Dana Point beach died 5
days later. The hospital said people are coming into emergency with MSSA/MRSA
all the time, 90% of these have had dental work in the last 2 weeks.
This used to be something contained to hospitals but not anymore, it is
breading on our beaches and in the ocean, it is contagious and is
becoming an epidemic not just here but around the world. Officials advise to
shower before going onto the beach and shower again coming off the
beach, if you have any cuts STAY OFF THE BEACH!
These bacteria's live on our skin and in our mouths, if
for some reason they get into our blood stream the body should fight it
off but that is often not the case, this is not just a warning for immune
compromised people but for fit young healthy people and children too. The key
is if you have pain, mosquito bites or rashes associated with a mild
temperature or chills go to the hospital immediately, they
don't routinely check for MRSA so you need to tell them to do it, it could
save your life!
Eric's
Story
He woke up one morning with back pain, it was so bad he
could hardly stand. At 9:30am I took him to the emergency room at the hospital,
he was cold in the waiting room and asked for a blanket, by the time he was
called he could not walk so they brought a wheelchair for him. They gave
him pain killers, antibiotics, blood test and sent him home around 3.00pm
telling him to take some Tylenol for the pain.
Over the next 3 days he got worse, the pain was unbearable
and the temperature/chills were increasing. We called a chiropractor out who
said he had a trapped nerve and gave him a laser treatment, we later discovered
this was contra-indicated for fever and multiplied the bacteria.
Eric called a friend who lives in the same street, he is an emergency
doctor at another hospital, he wasted no time and got Eric into Mission
hospital immediately, they kept him overnight to take an MRI of his back the
following day, later that day he went into cardiac arrest but fortunately the
nurse was in the room when it happened and they acted quickly, they then
suspected Sepsis (blood infection) they took samples of blood and found MSSA.
The next step is to put the blood in petro dishes and wait
for the bacteria to grow, then treat it with different antibiotics to find
which ones it responds best to, this took 5 days, in the meantime they
gave him a cocktail of antibiotics but it was not working and during
this 5 days he was on deaths door. Tests showed that the bacteria had
gotten into the heart, lungs, kidney, liver, intestine, spine and brain. The
bacteria is sticky, it protects itself with a film so the antibiotic can't get
to it, when it gets into the heart which it usually does, pieces
break off, they are called emboli, the heart then shoots these pieces all over
the body.
The effects of this are critical, the treatment is
usually surgery as the only way is to cut the infected pieces out, so this
was our dilemma and the only solution was prayer.......
Miracle 1
The bacteria got into Eric's spine, they wanted to do
surgery and cut out several vertebra and discs and replace them with artificial
ones, this would have been a 2 day surgery and Eric was already on deaths door.
The surgeon said if the bacteria moved just a tiny bit more Eric
would become a paraplegic, they recommended emergency surgery but the surgeon
said he wouldn't even get past the anesthetic and the bacteria would
attack the surgery site, it was scary and futile. I felt like I would have
been signing his death warrant so I refused the surgery and asked everyone to
pray for a miracle.
Miracle 2
The bacteria formed a cluster in the aortic heart
valve, it was shooting bacteria all over the body. The heart surgeon said
he needed to replace the valve immediately or Eric would die, for the same
reasons I said no and got everyone praying for another miracle.
Miracle 3
Later that day the bacteria had formed a clot in the
intestine, the trauma surgeon said that they needed to do emergency
surgery and cut this part of the intestine out or Eric would die, for
the same reasons again I said no and prayed for another miracle.
Miracle 4
The heart shot bacteria into the brain causing multiple
mini strokes on both sides of the brain, there was a high risk of brain damage
and further strokes, we prayed for a miracle and Eric's brain is 100%
Miracle 5
Once the bacteria was under control e.g. one month later,
other complications had set in, Eric's body was filling up with fluid,
especially his lungs, he could not breathe and had to go on a bipap breathing
machine, things got worse over the next 3 days, once again he was on deaths
door, the only way to save his life was to fly him to a specialist hospital for
heart surgery. When they ran the test prior to surgery it looked like 3
out of the 4 valves needed replacing, the surgeon said it was a highly risky
surgery for a fit young man let alone someone in Eric's condition, he prepared
us for the worst. Once again we got everyone praying for a miracle. The outcome
was that only one valve needed replacing and the surgery was a success.
Miracle 6
After 3 weeks Eric came back and went into a local nursing
home for some recovery time. After a few days I noticed his legs filling with
fluid, I asked the nurse to see the medication list and noticed they had
discontinued his diuretic. At 11:30 that night Eric called me, he said he
couldn't breathe, I jumped out of bed and went over there immediately (15 mins
drive) the nurse said go home he is just having an anxiety attack, I said
call 911 emergency right now, they were there in 5 mins, the hospital was just
10 mins drive, it turned out he was actually having heart failure. Thank God
for wisdom from the Holy Spirit that overruled the nurse and insisted on
calling 911, if we hadn't acted quickly he wouldn't be here today.
Miracle 7
Miracle 7
He was admitted back into hospital, a few days later they
decided to do another MRI on his back, then came the bad news "the
bacteria was back and worse than before" this was such a shock after
everything he had been through, they said they would have to do the surgery or
he would be paralyzed, the cardiologist said the surgery was too
risky for his heart, now we are back to square one, between a rock and a hard
place. The only answer was prayer, this time I asked everyone to pray
every 4 hours - 8am, 12 noon, 4pm and 8pm this way we could all pray
together. They took some biopsies to see what they were dealing with,
we waited anxiously for 3 days while they developed in the petro dishes, at the
end of the 3 days there was nothing, all the bacteria had gone. Praise God,
another answer to prayer.
Miracle 8
Eric lost the sight in his right eye, further examination
showed that the bacteria had eaten multiple holes in the back of his eye and
the retina had fallen off, once again he had emergency surgery, they didn't
hold out much hope for the sight in this eye. We have been praying for his
sight to be totally restored. We are now 6 weeks into the 10 week process
and Eric is already regaining his sight, the surgeon is shocked and can't wait
to see what the outcome will be.
This bacteria is a killer, be aware of it and pass this
onto you friends, it could save lives!
I have attached a web page below, just cut and paste it into
your browser, it explains how serious this is, that a lot of Americans have
already died from it and that we need an awareness campaign by the world
health authorities to do something about it and save lives.
Alternatively just Google MRSA on the beaches or whatever, there is plenty of
info on the internet.
Thank you for your prayers, they saved Eric's life!
Love and every blessing
