Subject: Fwd: Captain Edward Musselman flys at 94th
birthday
Hello Mr. Deeds,
I understand that you are or were involved with a newsletter
about Western Airlines pilots and employees. I thought you might be
interested in my father-in-law; Edward C. Musselman, who was a Western pilot
from 1944 until retirement in 1979. Ed just celebrated his 94th
birthday with a number of pilot friends and is now going to sell his airplane
and perhaps hang up his wings after 30,000 hours of commercial flying and many
thousands of additional hours in light aircraft and sailplanes.
A couple of former Western pilots, who used to fly with him, somehow
discovered the News-Argus article (see attached) and wrote to him. He was
so happy to rekindle old friendships that we thought getting his story out to a
larger Western/Delta audience would be both interesting and welcome. He
is an incredible source about the history of not only Western Airlines but of
aviation in general. If there is an avenue to help us connect him with
some of the pilots and crew he once flew with we would greatly appreciate your
help.
Please feel free to contact us if we can be of any assistance or if you
would like his contact information.
Sincerely,
Michael Shuster, cyndi Musselman
