Dear PCN (of over 2600 subscribers),
Happy Father’s Day!
Please read Humor / Sobering / Fun section below.
On a personal note my father is 91 and
still going strong. Today in their local
church, he and mom are being honored with a plaque and letter of recognition
for their long membership and service to the church and to the community.
Am I proud? You bet! He has been a respected and beloved community
leader for years and years and I had the great fortune of being his son. The things I have learned and gleaned from
him are immeasurable. I know that so
many of you have lost your dads. I also
know that many of you struggled through a strained relationship with your
father. For that I am truly sympathetic
and sorry. It is not supposed to be that
way. But that was the reality for my
dad. He had a troubled relationship with
his dad. He could have continued that legacy. But he stepped up and broke the chain. Maybe you are carrying on a long and great
tradition of being a great dad and good father or maybe you are attempting your
best to break the chain and become a father worthy of respect. Whatever the case, for you fathers and
grandfathers today is your day and Happy Father’s Day!
PS:
Today we gave my parents a large HD flat screen TV. In our family you have to be married 70 years
and be 91 years old before you get a new TV.
Ha ha. Needless to say they love
it. Hope my boys don’t wait that long
for me.
Thank Goodness Carol’s back:

This issue from Iceland:
Yeah, Keflavik to be exact. I have never been here before so first time
for everything. We got to the hotel
after midnight and it was still very light out.
Cloudy, rainy and cold. What did
you expect? Here for a couple of days and hope to do a little sightseeing.
Light High Life content:
Guys and gals, summer is obviously in
full swing and golf, fishing and traveling are the norms of our group. Posts for this issue are light I assume
because of that. Looking forward to a
fuller issue next time.
