Mark,
I don't think we've ever met. I'm a retired pilot (L1011... April
1994). There was another pilot that posted a simular situation as
what I find myself in. I received a letter from Delta yesterday, telling
me that they have over paid me retirement pay, in the sum of
$153,800.84. I do not remember who the other pilot was that found himself
in this same situation. I was hoping you might know. I would
like to talk with him to find out what he did. Or talk with any other
pilots that have been in the same situation. This is not a small
oversight. The only way I could come up with that kind of cash would be
to sell my home. Any information you can give me would be greatly
appreciated. Sincerely, Charlie May DFW

Big changes to Tricare??

Hello Mark:
I forgot whether or not you are retired
military, BUT:
TRICARE medical for us retired military folks appears to
have had a sudden terrible change.
On 15FEB2013, The Office Of The Asst.
Secretary Of Defense Health Affairs sent a letter those residing in western USA
stating that on 01APRIL2013, "the TRICARE Benefit will be
administered by UnitedHealthCare Military & Veterans (United Healthcare),
the new regional contractor for the West Region." UHC
replaced TriWest Healthcare Alliance whom had been providing great service for
many years.
We have Tricare STANDARD which permits
us to obtain medical treatment without having to visit a military hospital,
HMO/PPO, etc, but can utilize whomever we wish.
My wife's regular physician called her
on 10APRIL2013 and stated that because they are not a UHC provider, they
will not continue to participate in TRICARE and furthermore she must pay
100% of each bill at the time of an office visit. They will not send/file
anything or do anything associated with TRICARE anymore.
I wonder if any other PCN members
have amplifying information. So far, UHC has been uncontactable.
Regards,
Pete Heins (age 60 ret. Jan. '07)
