Loss of Pension Income
Mark,
Thanks for
all the effort that everyone is doing to get the word out about the loss of
retirement income.
There was a
statement made that up to almost 50% of some pilots pensions were lost. Please
ask those making these statements not to understate the truth.
As I stated
in my response when I signed the petition, I lost over 90% of my original
retirement income as did several of my friends retiring along with me. I would
be happy to document this if necessary.

Editor: Gene, I completely agree that
none of us wish to understate our loss, but on the other hand none of us will
be well served by overstating it either. As I mentioned in the email response I
sent to you, I will be happy to print your “documentation.” In the mean time I
believe my calcualation represent the main of our 3500 with losses that range
far in excess of the 10-20% per cent estimates and in reality range in the 30
to 50% range of overall pension loss.

Subject: Death notices
If there is a filter that can be
used to notify me of former WAL & DAL pilots only, please apply it.
Otherwise, please remove my email from the death list.
Thanks

Thanks

Editor: Ron, can’t to
both! I enclosed Ron’s email because
once every other week I get this request.
I have mentioned it many times but here goes again. If you are signed up
on our PCN google list you get ALL of our notices and we cannot filter that,
BUT YOU CAN BLOCK CERTAIN NOTICES. If
you do not want ANY death notices than you simply BLOCK that email (death@pilotcommunication.net) This same principle applies to other notices
which all come from SPECIFIC email addresses.
If you only wish to see notices for one group of pilots, then you can
simply visit the PCN Flown West Blog and under Carol’s
picture in the right column, simply click on the category you wish. Again, if you want to get the High Life
notices but nothing else, then simply block the other email addresses.

I don't know why but everywhere I go I see adverbs being
slaughtered and being replaced by adjectives. I expect some of this butchery of
the English language when I am watching a minority sports hero try to explain
some complex sports nonsense. But I really expect more from a writer of blogs
for Delta Air Lines.
Here is today's example; "loads slow" or the
correct English "loads SLOWLY!"
And all these years I thought my English major in college
would never have any bearing on my career as a Delta pilot . I was so wrong.
If you don't shape up I will make you hang my retirement
plaque signed by Leo Mullin on your wall.
By His Grace,
Capt. Tom LeBoutillier, Ret.
Editor: Capt Tom, As I mentioned earlier, I am glad that
someone is watching close. I fully admit that I am deficient with my grammar
and spelling. But I must correct one thing……the High Life is not written for
Delta nor does it represent them. The
PCN and the High Life was created by pilots for pilots. Because the High Life Blog is for pilots by a
volunteer, and because my wife can’t proof everything, just maybe I can win a
little grace and license from them.
