To all: A
Thank You from Terry Cosley re: Tom Colette's passing.
Thanks
for the shared memories. My brothers and I were always very proud of Dad and
thought he had the coolest job ever! He lived an amazing life traveling the
world and being with his family. Other than my mom’s losing battle with cancer
10 years ago, I’d say he lived the perfect life. He was able to have a
wonderful second life with Joanie, a widowed friend of Mom’s, whom he was able
to share 7 amazing years with. Just last summer (’11) they went on safari in
Kenya and then sailed home on the Queen Mary(?)2 from England. This past August
they were on a cruise that took them to Dubrovnik, Egypt, the Holy Land and
Greece. Three weeks later, Joanie was concerned enough with some symptoms he
was showing to take him to the doctor. It snowballed from there. Creutzfeldt
Jakob Disease. It still makes my head spin when I think how quickly he
deteriorated. We left no stone unturned trying to have him diagnosed.
Unfortunately, CJC is very difficult to diagnose, extremely rare, and
ultimately, fatal.
He
lived a great life and had a relatively short, pretty painless last few weeks.
We should all be so lucky.
We
will all miss him greatly.
Thanks
again for taking the time to write.
Terry
Cosley
p.s.
Of my mom and dad’s four kids, 3 boys and 1 girl, I was the one to follow in
his footsteps. I flew KC-135’s with a USAFR squadron out of March AFB. I was
hired by them about a year after college and stuck around until I made my folks
grandparents. It must be genetic…

Voluntary Benefit Trust for Airline Retirees (resend to correct embedded links)
I am somewhat confused by this received email; it
appears to me that this is a different insurance supplemental policy to
Medicare option available to us; I have been subscribed to the Insurance Trust
for Delta Airlines since it's original inception, (I can't recall the original
name this supplemental plan was called but I think it was something like Delta
Airlines Retiree Insurance Trust) and although I don't always think it is the
best option available I have always been reluctant to drop it and try something
else because if we once drop it, we can NEVER again re-subscribe.
May I prevail upon each of you for your opinion as to what is our best option? I retired 10-01-96 and am currently 76 years old, and still married to my original spouse who is also insured on my plan.
Thank you for your time and advice. Roger Edson

Editor:
Roger, the Voluntary Benefit Trust for Airline Retirees has been set up
by DP3 and was originally designed to give another option for retired pilots
who have lost many benefits. Your
subscription to the Delta Medical Plan is a company offered benefit and of
course we are talking two separate items. As to switching and then being able to
“re-subscribe” I will let the experts help with that. My suggestion is to contact George
Leatherbury at gleatherbury@peoplepc.com
and he will undoubtedly be able to help you if you haven’t already got your
answer.

Airlines Ad
Mark,
Did anyone but me find this ad to be mildly
amusing?
"Skymark
Airlines (Japan) has an immediate requirement for B737NG Captains - No B737
experience required!"
So, they are
looking for B737 Captains with no B737 experience? I don't think I'll be flying
on Skymark anytime in the near future.
(must be my
perverted sense of humor)
Great job on
the newsletter. Thanks for your hard work keeping us informed.

Editor: Joe, as you bring it to my attention I
find it amusing too. The truth is that
the Asian market is now so hard up for PIC’s that they are offering to train
for the transition type for an experienced captain of an equivalent
aircraft. Stick around, stranger things
will happen.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Full post disclaimer in left column. PCN Home Page is located at: http://pcn.homestead.com/home01.html
