CVG Headed Lower:



It has been a slow death around the Cincinnati area watching what is happening to our once strong and proud airport.  I remember the days when thousands of FA’s and over 1600 pilots were based here.  What a difference a few years and a merger can make.  I had always felt that with the NW merger there were simply too many hubs and no matter what rhetoric that was coming out of management to reassure nervous local leaders, that some of them were really just walking dead.  I also thought with CVG and the auto industry the big D was hedging its bets.  GM and Chrysler go down, (then CVG which is much more central to the foreign manufacturers) stays.  Since GM and Chrysler got some Obama bucks,  the decision was easy.  DTW would and will be the choice.  Seems like that is what has played out. Here is a link about closing and demolishing C and B concourse in CVG.  Your next time through here, it will only be a shadow of its former self:
