Back in the High Life Again -Theme Song:

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adw772km7PQ&ob=av2e

Lyrics:

Back in the High Life Again

Steve Winwood

It used to seem to me that my life ran off too fast
And I had to take it slowly
Just to make the good parts last
But when you're born to run, it's so hard to just slow down
So don't be surprised to see me
Back in the bright part of town

I'll be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time
Will open up again
I'll be back in the high life again
All thee eyes that watched me once
Will smile and take me in

And I'll drink and dance with one hand free
Let the world back into me
I know I'll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

Girl, you used to be the best
To make life be life to me
And I hope that you're still out there
And you're like you used to be
We'll have ourselves a time
And we'll dance the mornin' sun
And we'll let the good times come in
And we won't stop 'til we're done

We'll be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time
Will open up again
We'll be back in the high life again
All thee eyes that watched us once
Will smile and take us in

And we'll drink and dance with one hand free
And have the world so easily
Though we'll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

High life
High life
In the high life again

We'll be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time
Will open up again
We'll be back in the high life again
All thee eyes that watched us once
Will smile and take us in

And we'll drink and dance with one hand free
And have the world so easily
Though we'll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

High life
(Back in the high life)

Oh, we'll be back...

Dear PCN (of over 2600 subscribers),

New England Cruise –

10 day New England/Canada Fall Colors cruise.  New York City – Quebec City.  Fun time and calm seas.

Mark & Barb sailing out of NYC.

Our group after dinner on the ship.

Renewing CFII with an FIRC –

Yes, every 2 years I renew my CFII, with a FIRC course done online.  Why?  Gives me something to refresh my mind and keeps me engaged.  I don’t have a better reason than that, but I guess I am a glutton for punishment.  I have finished all sections but one and now that I’m back from the cruise and an up north Michigan deer hunt, I will wrap it up and get re-certified.  I bought a lifetime course from ACECFI and this is the first year that that purchase is paying dividends.

FAA Medical –

2 full years after a colectomy surgery, (which I have completely recovered from with absolutely no complications) the FAA Air Med sends me a letter stating my recent passed 1st class phys is now suspended UNTIL they receive a “progress note” on my recovery.  What a complete joke and crock of you know what.  What an incompetent and ridiculous action.  They gave me 60 days to respond or my medical  would be revoked. So I went and got the “progress note” as it was a simple check up to see that my surgery was successful.  How stupid.  So many other ways for them to get that information, and now I await their assessment of my submitted “progress note” to regain flight status.  Man, I know some of you have had issues with the Feds as well, but this is my 2nd time and I am not liking it one bit.  To me it seems like every single thing was done bass ackwards. Maybe I am just over sensitive, or maybe the FAA is run as bad as our local DMV’s.

Is it just me?

The day after I was reminiscing about the little ghouls and globblins that stop by for candy on Halloween, I flipped the car radio on and from my favorite Christian music station I heard, “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!”  Isn’t it a little soon for Christmas music?  Don’t get me wrong.  I love the Christmas season, but I really don’t want to be forced to celebrate it every single day of the year.  I know retailers make the bulk of their earnings during these months, so their incentive is great.  But come on.  Let me think a little about Fall Harvest, Thanksgiving, etc, before we turn our attention toward Christmas and Hanukkah.  Please!

New PCN subscriber Sign Up:

As you most of you know our PCN is a private subscribed to online community.  We maintain a list of that virtually eliminates spammers or other online undesirables from joining with a simple sign up procedure, so the applicant can be screened.  I am very happy with how this has worked as we can be assured that everyone on the 2670 member list is legit.

If you know of a pilot who wishes to join our community and receive our notices they can easily and painlessly become a subscriber for FREE by simply filling out the SIGN UP form.  If a current member vouches for a friend and simply sends in their former Delta position and email, I have always considered this an appropriate vetting and added them directly to the list.

Thanks for helping the PCN remain the largest retired Delta pilot online community and for helping keep our mailing list made up of all legit subscribers.
