Want
to help with a Reco Letter for an applying Delta New Hire?
Delta hiring is a runaway train. Cockpit qualifications will suffer if good
people are not recommended.
Since I fly light airplanes in a local club, we have
Instructors who are building time to move on.
One such instructor got hired by Delta Connection Carrier – Endeavor and
now is applying for Delta. He has asked
for a little help with a Reco Letter.
Because I have already assessed whether or not he would be a good fit, I
have given him that help. You may have a
friend or a grandkid who now is wanting to apply. If so, click on the link, for HL 297, which has a good section in there about how active
and retired pilots can help Delta find good pilots.

Subject: Old Navy Uniforms
To all Navy
flyboys,
I'm
currently volunteering at the Pensacola Navy Museum and most of the volunteers
don't know that the Navy aviators had a uniform called Aviation Winter
Working Greens. Could you ask your group if any have an old green uniform
they'd like to donate to the museum? Or sell to me?
Marco
Also looking for
an old cold weather poopy suit. Probably going to be tough to find.
We had to use those in 1968 when we went to North Korea during the Pueblo
capture ...water temp was about 36 degrees.

Old friends Out of Touch with Retiree Groups like the PCN
Editor: I included this letter below from a friend who was helping his ole friend get back in the loop. If you have anyone out there that is not receiving the HighLife or our Flown West notices then by all means send me their email and desire to be on our list and I will make it happen.
Hello all,
A few days ago I had a call from retired
DL Captain Richard X. 'Dick' Kaufmann, an old friend who I had not heard from
in several years. He said he has been
dropped from all Delta and pilot communications and wants to get back on a few
email networks. He and I checked out as
captains together in the DC-9 simulator back in 1981. His wife Ann is ill and they have moved into
the Lenbrook Retirement Community on Peachtree Rd. Here is his current data:

Retiree
Death Checklist - June 17, 2011 - Retiree Death Checklist and Survivor Benefits
Processing
Mark,
this ck list is dated 2015. Is there a more recent version which has the current number to press to reach a rep to report a death? I called mydelta and that number is now "6" instead of "2". I have no idea of any other differences.

Editor:
I don’t have a more recent ‘How To’ page and as long as the main telephone
number is correct that is the chief concern.
The internal menus (such as number to press) for people or departments
will always change some but if we are at the correct department then a
persistent person will find the right location for information. PS: I recently called 800MyDelta and asked
for a complete annual summary of the Delta D & S Plan (Trust) and they
didn’t take care of that but sent me over to another dept that did.
