Back in the High Life Again -Theme Song:

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adw772km7PQ&ob=av2e

Lyrics:

Back in the High Life Again

Steve Winwood

It used to seem to me that my life ran off too fast
And I had to take it slowly
Just to make the good parts last
But when you're born to run, it's so hard to just slow down
So don't be surprised to see me
Back in the bright part of town

I'll be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time
Will open up again
I'll be back in the high life again
All thee eyes that watched me once
Will smile and take me in

And I'll drink and dance with one hand free
Let the world back into me
I know I'll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

Girl, you used to be the best
To make life be life to me
And I hope that you're still out there
And you're like you used to be
We'll have ourselves a time
And we'll dance the mornin' sun
And we'll let the good times come in
And we won't stop 'til we're done

We'll be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time
Will open up again
We'll be back in the high life again
All thee eyes that watched us once
Will smile and take us in

And we'll drink and dance with one hand free
And have the world so easily
Though we'll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

High life
High life
In the high life again

We'll be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time
Will open up again
We'll be back in the high life again
All thee eyes that watched us once
Will smile and take us in

And we'll drink and dance with one hand free
And have the world so easily
Though we'll be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

High life
(Back in the high life)

Oh, we'll be back...

Dear PCN (of over 2600 subscribers),

 Happy Upcoming July 4th!

Slight Delay for Highlife to Acquire More Info on the D & S Drawdown

One of the last of benefits that was fought for contractually affecting retiree’s families is the Survivorship benefits from the Delta Pilot’s Disability and Survivorship Plan (Trust).  Pilot’s spouses have expected and are entitled to this benefit that was last written into our package in 1972.  The Disability and Survivor benefits still exist, and benefits are being paid monthly, but the Trust that distributed those benefits has become un-funded.  So of course that raises questions and I needed to gather more preliminary information before putting out this issue which I’ve shared in the Insurance Section of this issue.  This will certainly not be the last word on the D & S Plan nor the last time we highlight any actions taken or changes to that plan that may affect our surviving spouses or even the “grandfathered” disabled pilots amongst us.  Thank you for your patience waiting for the publishing this our 350th issue.

C182 with G1000 – Pax Sumer and Dale

In my retired life I still am a club member and fly little airplanes.  I am a member of a Chapter of Pilots for Christ here in Cincy.   On this mission, I flew a 6’8” passenger that used to weigh 500# now 225#.  He has some very serious health issues and that has led to financial problems as well. So our group flies these ambulatory patients for free to, in this case, the Cleveland Clinic for a series of tests.   His name is Dale, and since the flight he has been doing well and not yet in need of what he was being checked for…….a transplant liver and bowel.  Those are some serious health issues.   It was an honor to serve this Vet in such a way and very happy that, both pax enjoyed the flight, that the tests went well and that Dale has been doing ok.

2023 MLB Different and Fun

Probably the biggest thing that has made a difference in this year’s viewing of MLB is the pitcher clock.  I simply love it.  We were fortunate enough to go to a couple of spring baseball games in FL this Spring and saw the clock in action.  It moves the game and makes things happen faster and overall has been a huge winner.  I hope you’re enjoying this season and have been out to a game or two.  There are a number of teams that are exciting to watch and the play seems to be very entertaining.

I know that the Cincy Reds have renewed the fan base excitement and all driven by youthful aggressive play hard baseball.  They have had about 26 come from behind victories and they bunt, steal, hit triples, hit for the cycle and it is just a fun “fast” team to watch.  Some years MLB is like watching grass grow.  For some lucky cities, not this year!  It’s been fun!

+++++++++++++
