GMAIL – Two tricks that may help you with mail account
to keep it cleaner
1. Bulk
deletes:
It used to be very difficult for
Gmail users to delete a large group of emails at once but they have changed
that. When you’re in your inbox for
either Primary, Social or Promtion (what other email hosts call Spam)you can
select up to 100 emails at a time to move, mark or delete. But what if you wish to wipe out the whole
lot of thousands of emails in your Promotion box? Well, you now can.
a. In your
email select Promotion
b. Now upper
left select all emails on the page by clicking on the top left box.
c. Now all
emails are selected and an action can apply to them all like delete, but wait
before you delete 100 at a time, look to the right at the top to see this line:
“All 100 conversations
on this page are selected.Select all 3,586 conversations in Primary”
D. if you Select all 3,586 you can delete them all at
once. Wahlah, a clean email box again.
2.
Second
tip involves setting up an automatic delete after your prescribed number of
days. Use of filters to move to the
delete action for Social and Promotion emails after 90 days. See below how to set this auto delete
feature:
Let's
say you want to AUTOMATICALLY delete all "Promotional" emails from
your Gmail after 90 days.
Step 1:
Go
to Settings -> Filters -> Create a new filter
Step 2:
Type
the following into "Has the words"
field:
category:promotions older_than:90d
Step 3:
Click
"Create filter with this search"
Step
4:
Select
"Delete it"
and finally click "Create filter"
button...
And...
we're done!
The
key here is older_than:90d, you can just as easily create whatever time-based filter you
want with that.
Additionally, the reverse of that filter is newer_than:90d
So,
for example, using the same steps as above, we can create a Gmail filter that
puts emails newer than 90 days under a specific label/folder... Not sure
exactly how this would benefit someone but I'm sure someone will find a use for
the filter "newer_than:Xd"

For next year’s enrollment plan, Bob
likes his Medicare Advantage plan:

Hi Mark-
I am in my
third year with the ITDR Medicare Advantage Enhanced Plus plan. There are
no deductibles and no co-pays - and out of network costs are identical to in
network. Most doctor visits have a 10% coinsurance charge with a $1500 out of
pocket maximum. Due to a surgical heart procedure in August I reached
that limit so since then I have paid ZERO for every visit. I have been
retired for 22 years and this is the best plan I've ever been in.
