I recently sent an email to the ITDR asking
for info on the BCBS Settlement. Their response includes some useful links for
filing a claim online or printing it out to be mailed. A phone #
888-681-1142 can also be used as an
alternative.

Hi Mr. Foster,
Thank you for taking the time to reach us. Anthem provided the below statement for ITDR Members regarding the recent Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement:
If you’ve RECENTLY received
a notification regarding a Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement, this is a
legitimate correspondence. Participation in the settlement is completely
voluntary. Only you can decide if you wish to participate. Whether
you choose to participate in the settlement or not, your coverage and your
participation in the Insurance Trust for Delta Retirees will NOT be affected.
There are no repercussions to your health insurance coverage based on
your decision to participate in the settlement.
What is this lawsuit about?
- Plaintiffs allege that THE BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD PLANS violated antitrust laws by entering into an agreement where the BLUE PLANS agreed not to compete with each other in selling health insurance and administration of Commercial Health Benefit Products in the United States and Puerto Rico.
- THE BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD PLANS deny all allegations of wrongdoing. They assert that their conduct IS APPROPRIATE, LAWFUL AND results in lower healthcare costs and greater access to care for their customers.
- The Court has not decided who is right or wrong, NOR WILL IT BE. Instead, Plaintiffs and THE BLUE PLANS have agreed to a Settlement to avoid the risk and cost of further litigation.

My wife & I have both received info from "Blue
Cross Blue Shield Settlement" about filling a claim under this settlement.
We have questions:
1) Are we included in this settlement thru the ITDR ?
2) If we are, do we do any damage to ITDR by filing a claim?
