Flown West Memorials and sub-categories

Dear PCN,

The PCN is all about sharing our memories and thoughts about our service to one of the world’s greatest airlines and pilot groups. When our comrades pass, we honor them with the greatest respect and dignity, by permanently memorializing them on our Flight West page. We honor our fallen with a well crafted written memorial, but the web sight also allows our living members many features typical of a blogspot. Our members can SCROLL and SEARCH the listings by name or by month. In addition because of our merged and combined past with other airlines, we have established SUB-CATEGORIES to sort on as well shown, below.

During the last year, Google changed their dashboard for the administrators and one of the difficulties for us was to locate certain familiar tools like our sub-categories. There was a time when our posts were not assigned because of this Google change. That has been remedied.

Keep in mind, that we are all volunteer and always try to do the best we can. In this case, those recent additions that are known to have flown for one of the listed sub-category airlines, have now been correctly assigned. Also keep in mind when the memorial is crafted, many many times we are limited in the knowledge that we have of the aviator’s past history. So we do not always know about any stint in the past for another major airline.

One more thing and it is an important one. We owe Carol Faulkner our respect and much praise.

While I did a very small part in creating the online structure for the PCN Flight West Page, Carol is the one that handles all the work of researching, assembling and then crafting the beautiful and respectful memorials that we publish both by mail then permanently on the PCN Flight West . Very few, if any, other pilot groups have a Carol Faulkner. She is a treasure.

Groups like ours may or may not be mentioned in retirement briefs for this large group of pilots. The Delta Golden Wings, The Disabled Delta Pilots and others resources may or may not be known to them.

As you most of you know our PCN is a private subscribed to online community.
