PCN,
my path toward becoming a “Trusted
Traveler” with Global Entry has been delayed big time by the Feds slow down of production
during all these Covid lockdowns. But,
after about a year of wait, I finally got my conditional approval in which I
could schedule my interview with the border agents and become christened as a
“Trusted Traveler.” Follow up: Today, 9-28-20 we passed our interview and
are not deemed terrorists so we are now approved for Global Entry.
Trusted Traveler Programs
Welcome
to the official U.S. Department of Homeland Security website, where travelers
can apply for Trusted Traveler Programs. Our programs allow members to use
expedited lanes at the U.S. airports, and when crossing international borders.

I
know that I have shared info before about “Real ID” but in general folks like
us might want the ‘black star’ stamp on our driver’s license, because on Oct 1st
2021 to get through TSA ID with boarding pass, you will need to carry your
PassPort if you do not have Real ID.
REAL ID Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions and answers regarding the
implementation the REAL ID Act. The REAL ID Act, passed by Congress in 2005,
enacted the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation that the Federal Government “set
standards for the issuance of sources of identification, such as driver's
licenses.” The Act established minimum security standards for license issuance
and production and prohibits Federal agencies from accepting for certain
purposes driver’s licenses and identification cards from states not meeting the
Act’s minimum standards.
