The
following are my own personal thoughts. It seems like with all that has been
going on lately, kind of reminds me of a sporting match- Doing away with the
yearly $50 pass allotment fee-advantage retirees. Having to ride WITH an S-4
pass rider to have a shot at 1st or Business Class [especially
internationally]-advantage Delta. Not having access to certain parts of
DeltaNet-advantage Delta. Having a whole class [S-3A] of pass riders placed on
top of retirees-Advantage Delta Having to pay Delta directly for S-4 pass
charges-advantage Delta. All being said, I think I'd rather pay the $50 fee and
get everything else back. Also, few months back, I used the IFS link to find
where the crews laid over in MUC. Emailed the hotel and got about a 50%
discount for travel this Summer. I appreciate the PCN link to the hotels but
think hotels change on an almost monthly basis. Will the PCN link update this
link monthly? Also, the other day, I just decided to check today's availability
on flight 0130, ATL-MUC. Got a pop up window with something about
"HK" standby's affecting the availability, and to click "explanation"
for further details. When I clicked on the prompt, I got an "Access
Denied" message. Advantage Delta?? Joel Payne B767A ATL [ret.]
Editor: “HK’s” are non-revs killers and
are the predominant problem when using zed fares because there are a number of
confirmed passengers with no seat assignment (until at the gate) but that
confuses the availability list. Here is
what Delta says about “HK’s” :

CONFIRMED REVENUE
CUSTOMERS AWAITING A SEAT ASSIGNMENT. THE AMOUNT OF (SEATS NOT ASSIGNED)ON
THE AIRPORT STANDBY LIST WILL REDUCE ONCE THEY ARE GIVEN SEATS.
