Dear PCN (of over 2600 subscribers),

Just returned from travels to Israel then Michigan
First, Israel: For the last 7 years flying the military around, I have flown over Israel a good many times.  When the vis is good, it is quite easy to pick out some very important spots in the little country.  I have always wanted to visit there and take a holy land tour complete with many of the sites that have a great deal of meaning to me as a Christian.  Well, my Delta pilot son, Mike, had a group going right during a vacation period of mine and also over Barb and my 65th birthdays.  Timing couldn’t be better and so we booked it and were so glad we did.  The man from Galilee changed the script and changed the world so it was very interesting to visit the many historical sites that were the location of major events in the life of Jesus and as such for the church that follows Him.  We had a tour guide who was a Messianic Jew, which for our Christian group, was really helpful as all the Old Testament Jewish history was neatly presented in concert with the impact of Jesus of the New Testament.  When we stood on the Mt of Olives and looked at an old Jerusalem that was predominantly the same visual that Jesus had, it was very moving.   So many sites had a emotional impact on me,  the mount where the Beattitudes were taught, the Sea of Galilee where upon its shores so many events took place, and the House of Caiaphas and the Antonio Fortress, where Jesus was accused before the high priest then shuffled off to Pontius Pilate where He was condemn to die.  Yeah, a lot to take in and for Barb and I, very very impactful.  Should you go?  Well, our experience was terrific and a trip that will complete some mental pictures for me for the rest of my life.  If you have always wanted to, then make it happen.

One caution:  non-revving to TLV is tough.  It didn’t work out so well for us inbound, however, outbound we were fortunate to get on and onward to home.  So bite the bullet and buy positive space with your tour.

 About MI Farm Time:
Well, the trip up to the farm in Michigan was to “relax” and recover from the recent Israel trip.  I would do some odds and ends on the property that need attention and would get a little bow hunting in.  Barb would visit with Mom and then travel to Lansing for her “infamous” sisters shopping weekend.  She had a ball and now I await the arrival of the credit card bills,  ha ha.  For me, my first surprise was when I purchased my hunting tag.  Since I purchased it after my birthday I got a very nice “senior” discount for the first time this year.  Wow, there are some advantages to getting older.   As to the successes?  Well, I did bag a deer and get some projects done, but I never really got the sleep needed to recover from the jet lag from Israel.  That has come a little later.  Both trips were great and a super way to “kick of” my new retired life.

More consistent High Life releases?
I have been at an online pilot community for over 14 years and doing the PCN for the last 9 years.  Maybe now that I am retired I will be able to have the time to be a little more consistent with the High Life……and maybe not.    Let me give a little explanation.  For all new to the PCN we attempt to produce a bi-weekly newsletter.  That is conditional upon enough content received from members and my availability to edit. We’ll see but in any case I still love serving this community and very much appreciate
your indulgences when it comes to flexibility of issue release.
