Subject: Non rev travel info  Listing Codes?

Mark
Question and answer about non rev standby priority:
I am a Delta retiree and travel on a S3B priority. As per the Standby Code Chart on Delta flights I  come behind active Delta employees and ahead of Delta Connection and Delta Global Service (DS) non revs.  I now see non revs on the Nonrevenue Standby List listed as DS, travel as S2 and S3 priority on the Airport Stand List.  Has there been a change in policy, do active DS employees come ahead of retired Delta employees and can they travel as a S2 or S3 priority ???
RESPONSE:  Thanks  for your recent email sent to the Delta Employee Service Center.    Per your inquiry, some DGS employees are in a supervisory position and on that note, they have travel benefits the same as a regular Active Delta Employee to include S2/ S3/ travel companions/ non-dependent children, etc.    Thanks for checking.

Careema

Editor:  When I non-rev most “DS” listed people (and other Delta Connection codes) on the standby list have usually ended up below me on the “Cleared” list so that DL seems to still have priority most of the time.  Your post is interesting though.

Subject: Buddy Pass problem

Hi Mark,
I don’t know if you have heard of this yet, or covered it in your newsletter, but thought others may have had a similar problem.  I could not get the extranet website to email the completed buddy pass receipt to my buddy pass rider, or even to myself.  After numerous tries with various email addresses, I was still pulling out my hair.  Giving up, I actually called the Employee Service Center.  After working my way through the various mazes of inputs I finally got to talk with a very nice lady who, once I explained my problem, replied “yes, that has been a problem for some time.”  At that point I wanted to yell “Why hasn’t someone put out the word on this!” but instead I simply asked how buddy pass riders were to get on their flight without the receipt?
She explained that, as far as she knew, they were showing up at the airport ticket counter and using the kiosk to get their Seat Request Card.  Of course, that would also put them on the active standby list for their flight, allow them to check bags, etc.  While this is a perfectly sensible solution to a problem I encountered, it sure would have been nice if there were a notice somewhere in TravelNet noting that emailing a buddy pass receipt is not available at the present time.
Later, after thinking about the whole situation, I realized that the buddy pass rider can also check-in on delta.com within 24 hours of their departure, use the feature to show how many bags to check, and print out their document from home.  This also puts them on the active standby list, allows them to hand over their bags once at the airport, etc.  I don’t know when Delta plans to make their next update to the extranet, but it would be nice if they would fix this problem.

Editor: Chris I have had this problem and it is related to the browsers not allowing “popups” which is required for DeltNet to email receipts.  Try to change permissions or a different type of browser and problem will be solved.

Improved Privileges?
....I just rcvd a call from a retiree wondering about the possibility of improved pass priority for retirees traveling standby....he mentioned United has a blended system setup with actives and retirees....adjusted hire date due merger with Continental for retirees but priority otherwise the same as actives....are you familiar?  and/or do you have any other news that I may pass along to retirees regard pass benefits?

Thank you!
~ Carol

Editor: Thanks Carol for passing that request along.  No, I haven’t heard of any move afoot to improve retiree priority or privileges for any of our non-rev travel.  If I do I will certainly pass it along.

I cannot express the importance of CANCELLING your listing if you aren't going to be there for a flt!!! Number 1.) it's a rule of pass travel. Number 2.) it let's other employees know if they may have a shot or think u r here and they r SOL. Number 3.) I clear u in a gravy fc or comf plus seat and the guy behind u gets a middle. Then u no show and I have no time to chg people on board. How would U like that to happen to U? Share this with EVERYONE!!! If u can't make it, CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL. go on travel net, call res, phone a friend, but CANCEL!

Editor: I might add to this post it is only important to cancel if you move from standby list to AIRPORT STANDBY LIST.  The 2nd list means you have checked in or are on property waiting for being cleared.  If you are on the ole meal list or what is now called the standby list and do not check in or do not arrive at the airport, your listing canceling is immaterial.
