Hi Dave -
The Delta Disabled Pilots and Survivors Association (DDPSA) often encounters survivors of recently deceased pilots who are confused about the Monthly Income Survivor Benefit from the Delta Pilots Disability and Survivorship (D&S) Plan. It may be helpful if you distribute the following information to your email list of retired Delta pilots.

Hi Dave -
The Delta Disabled Pilots and Survivors Association (DDPSA) often encounters survivors of recently deceased pilots who are confused about the Monthly Income Survivor Benefit from the Delta Pilots Disability and Survivorship (D&S) Plan. It may be helpful if you distribute the following information to your email list of retired Delta pilots.
- The D&S Plan was not terminated during the Delta bankruptcy.
- If a pilot retired from Delta before January 1, 2008, a D&S Plan Monthly Income Survivor Benefit may be available for his surviving spouse.
- DDPSA is an organization that focuses on the D&S Plan and is distinct from DP3.
- You do not have to be a member of DDPSA to access information on the website ( https://www.ddpsa.org/).
- Information about D&S Plan survivors' benefits is available on the DDPSA website (SURVIVORS page).
- The FLIGHT PLAN FOR THE FINAL FLIGHT WEST, which is posted on the website, contains valuable information.
- The SURVIVOR BENEFIT WORKSHEET can be used to estimate the Monthly Income Survivor Benefit. Maintaining current estimates of the survivors benefit may be helpful in confirming the accuracy of Delta's benefit determination.
DDPSA, which is staffed solely by volunteers, continues to shift focus towards survivor benefits as the number of disabled/retired pilots eligible for benefits decreases and the number of surviving spouses increases. We would like to ensure that benefits are paid to the last surviving spouse eligible for benefits from the D&S Plan.

DDPSA Chairman
