Misc - HL 252 (4)

Mark,
You don't reflect our retirees sentiments. We are in a battle with PBGC and Delta to reclaim our rightful share of our contribution to  Delta through our many years of faithful service. 3500 of us have given to Delta our all through the years only to be told that we don't matter.
Please use this forum to hold Delta accountable and relegate them to  a place of shame in the public's eye. We have to win our battle over the company that we made great. Anything that you can do in this regard would be appreciated.
Pat McGirl

Editor: I reached out to Pat to help me understand where I haven fallen short but as of yet have not heard back.  I asked if he remembered that 4 of us used the Rob Moser’s idea to run a petition campaign that did indeed get us a hearing in front of Senior VP Rob Kight. And we went to Ft Widget to represent ALL retired pilots including Pat.   Everything in me would like to help in righting the wrong that Delta pushed unto to the retired pilot group, so if Pat can tell me where I have fallen short maybe I can try a little harder to amend my ways and fly straight and level.

Church on the Beach is an English Speaking Christian Church in Salinas, Ecuador.  Some of our people are from North America and over half our congregation are Ecuadorians who speak English or are learning English... hoping to enhance their livelyhood and improve their lot in life.  Pastors Buff and Lana Ness are asking for your help!

Many have relatives and friends affected by the devastating earthquake and they are in desparate need of help.

People are still searching for their loved ones.  Many have no place to sleep.  No food.  No water.  No clothes.  No insurance.  No way to rebuild their houses.

This is a short term AND a long term need.

The Ecuadorian Christian Surfers have made Church on the Beach their home church and many of the young people they have been ministering to are in need of help as a result of this disaster.

Many of our Ecuadorian members have family who are affected by this disaster and have no way to cover the costs involved in daily living and in rebuilding their homes.

We want to help them with their immediate needs, but just as important... they will need to rebuild homes.

Your generous donations will be used first to meet their immediate needs.

Secondly, donations will be used to help clear off the debris from their land and then to help rebuild homes.

Funds are needed immediately.

There are hundreds and maybe thousands in need and if we can help a few right now and a few more in the long run it will be a great show of generosity to hurting people.

Ness Ministries, Inc headquartered in Branson Missouri is the US point of contact for Church on the Beach, Salinas, Ecuador.  If you desire a letter for use in your US Income Tax for donations please indicate so in your donation.

The people you help will be eternally grateful and will be praying for you to be blessed abundantly for your sacrificail giving.

I wonder if Delta is glad they are not operating this new Boeing offering:

FAA orders 'urgent' engine fixes for Boeing 787 Dreamliners

(CNN)Describing it as an "urgent safety issue," the Federal Aviation Administration has ordered modifications on specific General Electric engines on some 787 Dreamliners because an icing problem could force those engines to shut down in flight.
Friday's FAA airworthiness directive stems from a January 29 incident aboard a 787 flying at about 20,000 feet.
"Ice shed from the fan blades ... causing the blades to rub against the fan case, resulting in engine vibration," GE Aviation spokesman Rick Kennedy told CNN. That forced an engine shut down and the aircraft landed safely with its remaining engine.
According to the FAA document, "Susceptibility to heavy fan blade rubs, if not corrected, could result in engine damage and a possible in-flight non-restartable power loss of one or both engines."
"The potential for common cause failure of both engines in flight is an urgent safety issue," the FAA document said.

The Dreamliner is Boeing's most sophisticated passenger plane to date, made largely of expensive, super-strong light-weight carbon-fiber reinforced plastic instead of traditional aluminum. Its fuel efficiency and long-range has gained it a reputation for opening new airline routes worldwide.
"In some cases, airplanes could be grounded," the FAA directive said. But GE said it was "working with operators to avoid airline disruption," Kennedy said. "The process takes about 16 hours using a fan grinding machine. All of the work is done on-wing with no engine removals."
The specific engine type is the GEnx-1B PIP2. The order affects about 176 Dreamliners at 29 airlines worldwide, the FAA document said.
