Subject: DELTA'S OLDEST LIVING PILOTS for 2015
Hello all,
Each year I try to compile a list of Delta's Oldest Living Pilots, which includes all living pilots from any airline that is now shown on Delta's Family Tree schematic (attached below).
The list for 2015 is attached below in both MS Excel and.pdf formats. If you know spouse names for those shown with question marks, please click Reply and send me that information. Those that passed away during the year are highlighted in Yellow with their date of death.
Long ago I independently determined that a good age for inclusion on this list is the calendar year when the pilot reaches the age of 86 and the 2016 list is a work-in-progress now. For the year 2016 any pilot from any of the companies now on Delta's Family Tree with a date of birth of 1930 or earlier should be included.
Please send me that pilot's FULL name, spouse's name, the pilot's Date of Birth and Date of Hire and the pilot's ORIGINAL airline company. If the spouse is deceased, please include that information with the spouse's name.
Due to privacy concerns I WILL NOT publish the pilot's Date of Birth, only the month of birth and the pilot's age on a particular date which is stated on the report. But I need the complete Date of Birth in the data base to compile the report.
A few of you ask, why do I want to know this, and that's what your DELETE key is for. No sarcasm intended.
Others enjoy receiving the report and seeing their name included ----- before it appears on the Deceased List.
Please help me include all of those living pilots born in 1930 or earlier if their name is not already posted. Thank you for your help.
Blessings, all.
Dave

Mark,
Wasn’t sure how to post an attachment. Thought this letter
might be of interest, which I had sent for editorial feedback to Aviation Week.

Aviation Editorial Feedback:
The article on Richard Anderson, Delta Air Lines CEO, (The
Disruptor, AWST December 21, 2015-January 03, 2016) left out some information
which would add to understanding Delta Air Lines ‘turn-around’ from bankruptcy
to its present profitable state and to what degree Mr. Anderson’s influence
played a part to the whole. In the case
of Delta Air Lines, the turn-around can be mainly attributed to the former Delta
Board Member and CEO, Gerald Grinstein.
Although far from enamored at the time of aggressive cost-cutting
measures, including concessions with the pilot’s union and other employee
groups, Mr. Grinstein managed to regain communication, trust and the confidence
of the employees.
And, unlike most executives, Grinstein took a pay cut to his
already minimal salary along with no bonuses, stock options, or other. He even directed the company to use his
allotted bankruptcy emergence stock to establish a scholarship and hardship
fund for the employees and their families.
Now, as Mr. Anderson exits at the crest of the wave that has
been ‘fueled’ by lower energy costs, U.S. airline carrier consolidation, and
reorganization set in motion by his predecessor, one has to question the lack
of investment in later model aircraft which would provide ‘pay-for-themselves’
savings while increasing asset value, customer continued loyalty, and a
competitive stance. Thus we can only guess
that time will tell and show what Mr. Anderson’s true legacy will be.

Sitting here in fxxking Korea,
ass biting cold, wind blowing hard, snowing, reading the latest PCN and being
pissed off that I'm earning roughly the same amount that those sorry b@st@rds
should be sending me each month, my EARNED DEFERRED pension, that they stole.
They have no ethics, no integrity, no mutual respect, no morals.
They should run for POTUS. They don't give a shxt about 3500 of
my colleagues.
Yet they feel really good about giving the current employees millions
of dollars in profit sharing, while they screw the passengers with
"ancillary fees" such as bag fees and ticket change fees. Fxxking
thieves. And they laugh all the way to the bank.
Glad my blood pressure medicine works.
We gave it our best shot. I can sleep somewhat better at night knowing
that we tried.
Best Regards, Rob
P.S.
With the language that is being used by the Republican clowns running
for POTUS, you can feel free to run an unedited reprint of this email in the
PCN. LOL

Subject: Something to think about
Love this quote from Plato.
Conundrum
Free people are not equal. Equal people are not free. (Think
this one over and over…makes sense!)
The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.
Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America :

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.
Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America :
1. America
is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is
subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3.They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5.The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other
countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want
America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st
Century. Makes you wonder who is doing the math.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current
government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.
Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering…
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of
money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of
money ! What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.
Think about it.....and Last but not least :
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and
cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.
Am I the only one missing something?
