Subject: LOOKING FOR RETIRED OR ACTIVE PILOT for mission of mercy
To: pioneers <pioneers@deltayellowbirds.com>

I have received a request from Retired Delta Reservations Agent Maryfran Godek. The Following is her request:   PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO  YOUR PILOT FRIENDS
If you can give my email and or my phone contact to any either retired pilots or active that can help me connect with transportation from anywhere in North Carolina to Boston or BVY Beverly Ma airport for 2 10lb Lhasa Apsos they are 12 years old in good condition and shipper with provide shurpas or vera kennels.
The nautical mile distance I think is over 600 miles...in private planes they would have to be qualified to accomplish this, if not I can short leg them and coordinate the flights between the short leg pilots.. i.e. gso/rdu bwi to pou/bvy etc....
I can cargo them on delta gso/lga bos but in that situation it's over 5 hours..I did check with Delta and United but RJ's RDU Boston is not done for pets in cargo/.on-board I'm only allowed 1 pet ....I don't know what the charge is but I'd have to fly 2 rt...still can do that...but private charter is better.
So the women I'm in contact with in North Carolina: Her dad was a Navy man and he recently passed away..his funeral was yesterday and my Mom was Navy so...she can't keep them and was going to euthanize them until she contacted me. They are beautiful dogs and even though they are 12years
old I can give them the next couple of years. my Lhasas have passed. They are also willing to drive 6 hours to BWI or Virginia to accomplish this.
I've been in contact with Pilots n Paws and the Delta Rescue transport and Delta Retires via Facebook all very helpful but nothing yet..the crews are GO-Jet personal out of RDU and unless they deadhead and not working they can't do this.
Once again thank you for all of your assistance,
If any contact in this situation needs Buddy passes I just renewed the next 8 they can  have them!!!!

Subject: A message from CEO Doug Parker
Received from AA CEO but I have news for him.   They are a long way from ONE airline!!!
Hello Mark,
AAdvantage® Number: xxxxxxx

I'm happy to share we are now one airline. All our flights are operating as American Airlines, and the US Airways brand belongs to history.

I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued loyalty as we've worked to become one. Integrating two airlines is no easy task, but today, we're operating a single website and reservations system.

As a valued customer, this means our policies and elite benefits are fully aligned, creating a seamless travel experience for you. You'll notice airport kiosks and signs are all branded American, and all our regional carriers now fly under the American Eagle name.

We've worked hard to build you a better airline, but the work does not end here. We're committed to improving and pushing further down the path to restore American as the greatest airline in the world.

Thank you for flying with us.

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) shattered the airline industry's record for quarterly results Wednesday, reporting $2.2 billion in pre-tax income. The financial results, despite currency volatility and global economic uncertainty, underscored the fact that the airline continues to manage the company for long-term, sustained success amid a low fuel price environment.
Great company results but what about its pilot retirees?

Weather Wise: The AWC Website

Of all the weather websites out there these days, one of the best and most popular is NOAA's Aviation Weather Center-- often referred to as ADDS, or
aviationweather.gov.

In this brief three-minute video—the second in a series focused on practical weather flying--we explore some of the many resources available at the revamped AWC website, and discuss how pilots can use them to get a more complete picture of the weather prior to flight.
