Note about layover hotels: The layover hotel info IS STILL AVAILABLE in a couple of locations including Inflight (IFS) section of Delta net. Login to DeltaNet>Departments>IFS>Hotels. 
RE: Global Entry for 5 years (and more) for $50 (If you can get to a border interview)
Note: NEXUS apparently is a Canadian managed program.  So therefore the differences from our Global Entry.
 If you haven't heard of this, maybe you will be interested.  My son married a Canadian (who is a wonderful by the way) and needs to buy NEXUS cards for his family's for border crossings.  Low and behold there is an added cookie when you buy the $50  NEXUS card........... YOU GET GLOBAL ENTRY FOR 5 years for FREE!!!!! 
This could make it more appealing for flyers plus you get faster lane border crossings for Canada and Mexico.  Ahhhhh, pour me a margarita!!!!!

It happened again yesterday. As I was putting this TravelSkills post together, yet another boozed up traveler described as “uncooperative and combative” was taken into custody at LAX  and was dragged away “kicking and screaming.”
