Regarding DP3 filed case in Atlanta court:
Re: PCN - HL 222 in another week. DP3 News Dec 7
A court case against Delta in an Atlanta court? We don’t
stand a chance.
Editor: Roger, your email post appeared
in HL 222 but I got to thinking about it and wanted to respond. I am not a spokesmen nor a trustee for the
DP3, however, I don’t think Atlanta venue will necessarily be a bad thing. The case isn’t against Delta but rather the
government agency of the PBGC. Many of
our appellates live near the filing. And
lastly it may be easy for a number of retirees to get to to attend if they
wish. Admittedly the courts have not had
a stellar history of holding our government accountable but the case is well
written so let’s all hope for the best.
Should be interesting. Mark

He
mentions AARP at the end. Imho, they are nothing but another large
insurance company themselves in bed with the left & worthless anyway.
Meanwhile
in many royal blue liberal states like CA for one, you never see them cutting
gov't pensions for the municipalities
that
have declared bankruptcy. Instead the courts cut elsewhere such as
bondholders while holding the taxpayers still
responsible
to pay for many of their ludicrous public employee union pensions via
increasing fees & taxes for "the rest of us".
And
some of "the rest of us" are the ones who have had our pensions
either taken completely away or receive as low as 10 cents on the dollar
from
the PBGC. Yet we continue to pay for the public employees'
pensions. Talk about salt in the wounds!

Pension
Plan Legislation
Notice from DALRC, Inc.
Many of you may have recently seen
headlines in the business section of newspapers or from other media outlets
about recently passed federal legislation that could reduce pensions up to
30%. You can relax because this does not pertain to our Delta
pensions.
This particular legislation is addressing
multi-employer pension plans that are distressed and may become insolvent in the
future. They are far removed from the caliber of Delta's ground and flight
attendant plan which is governed under the Pension Protection Act of 2006.
However, this type of thinking in
Washington could possibly open the door to additional retirement changes in the
future. Rest assured that DALRC will continue to closely monitor any
legislative winds that could affect pensions and income tax and notify you of
any action we as a retiree group may need to take.
