Subject: Capt Jim Hart's retirement
Hello Mark, Delta Captain Jim
Hart a new hire classmate of ours (11-10-78) just retired after 37 years
with Delta Air Lines. Jim and I have been good friends since our
hiring. At one time we even owned an Aeronca Champ together. My
wife and I were honored (and very lucky) to be on his retirement flight on
Friday which was a 777 from LAX to ATL. I thought he told me he was
number 28 on the seniority list. At the gate in ATL the fire trucks
sprayed the plane down as he taxied in for the last time. Then
the Chief Pilot there had a very nice ceremony honoring Jim and his
retirement. Former ORD pilots Wayne Thronson and John
Vancy were also there for the ceremony. Just thought I'd pass this on to
you. That could have been us if Delta management hadn't been so
inept. Here are some pictures, David W. Skjerven
