MAKE SMART CHOICES A WAY OF LIFE
2015 Enrollment
BEFORE you DECIDE to Continue (or
Begin) with Delta MEDICAL COVERAGE
If you are younger than age 65, you
may want to look into the private health plans that are being offered in the
Health Insurance
marketplace in your state (also
called the “exchanges”) as a result of the Affordable Care Act. For individuals
whose household income is below a certain level, federal subsidies are
available for this coverage. These plans may be a good alternative, especially
if you are paying the full cost for your Delta retiree medical coverage,
because:
• Premiums for those plans are
generally less expensive than Delta’s unsubsidized retiree premiums, and
•You may qualify for government
premium subsidies, even with household income as high as $94,000 for a
four-member household.
Note: You will not be eligible for
government subsidies if you also enroll in Delta coverage. For Delta retirees
and survivors who are not yet medicare eligible and can qualify for the federal
subsidies, these Health Insurance marketplace insurance plans may provide
affordable alternatives to Delta retiree coverage. We encourage you to compare
each option based on the plan costs and what it offers. Also review out-of-pocket
costs, prescription drug lists and physician and provider networks to get a sense
of the full impact on you and your family.
