Subject: LSO Earns His Money...Low Visibility Landing Aboard Ship
Land Jet, Eat Burgers; Fail to Land, Go Swimming
Here's a little something for those who think our military
is overpaid.
This video depicts foul weather carrier operations (daytime). The radio call, "99 taxi lights on" informs the pilot the visibility at the
ship is nil and the Landing Signal Officers need their taxi lights on to
see the jets. Keep in mind, there's no shelter from the rain for anyone
working the flight deck, and into their sodden workspace are landing 25
ton jets at 150 mph. They don't call this game for weather, lightning,
darkness or otherwise. You can't see much until the last few seconds -
then the excitement.............

Good to see the Naval Aviators airborne
again.
The Blues are looking better than
ever.......Go Navy !....
This video was shot during the annual
pre-season practice time on base at NAF El Centro. It shows the Blues on
the last day of practice before their airshow season started with the 2014 El
Centro Airshow the following day. We were allowed unbelievable access to
the base and to the Blues. If you look on our AIRSHOWVID Facebook page
you will see other videos and photos from El Centro. The title,
"Road to Perfection" was a remark I heard from one of the Blue Angels
ground team members. Here is the link below:

Alameda and North Island had great
Happy Hours, too.
Bit of history...
NAS Alameda & Moffett
Field ...
Marvellous coverage of the early days at Alameda and
Moffett. The only thing missing are
pics of F-8's when the RAG was there late 50's to '61.
I've never seen pictures
of planes inflight refueling from a seaplane before - didn't even know it was
even done.
