Mark: Happy New Year! Thanks for everything. Loved the
"Rant". Please make this a regular space. Must be a humorous for real
rant. I loved it. Bless you and your faith from an atheist. How privileged we
pilots have been and are. Take Care. Jerry
Editor: Jerry I really appreciate your compliment and
the blessing. I am very encouraged when
pilots that are as independent as the wind can all find something beneficial,
fun or informative from the High Life.
Our goal is to serve the WHOLE retired pilot community and so far we
think it is going pretty well. As to the regular section on rants, I recently tried to start a new section about
our early aviation exploits entitled “Young Aviators”, and guess what. So far no contributions from the group. I am still waiting. Maybe you could be the first. Thanks again.

Subject: IE
Mark, I have had nothing but trouble with IE (MS Internet
Explorer) since the "auto" upgrade to version 11. Did a system
restore to previous version and blocked auto installation! Even the desk top
widgets were AFU? Now back to normal.
Just like W-8 problems. I am sticking with W-7Pro 64bit.
Guess they never heard of don't mess with it if it works?:)

Editor: I agree that both upgrades from MS
have been problematic. The latest issue we have been noticing is that the later
versions of Internet Explorer has been giving us problems opening the HL PDF
version. We are recommending using
another browser.

Subject: Thank you note.
Hello Mark,
I am asking you for a big favor and your
help. Don Camp gave me your e-mail address with the hope that
you might be able to post a little Thank You
note in your “High Life” newsletter on the passing of my
husband N. Kenneth Allerup on December 10th,
2013.
Please let me know if you are able to do this
for me.
Sincerely,
Helga Allerup
Editor: Carol does an
absolutely fantastic job at being sensitive yet informative to our community
when one of our fellow aviators makes his or her final flight West. It is always satisfying to receive a thank
you or encouragement from the family that appreciates the work in producing the
notices.
