You might want to put this on the
weekly blog--it was copied from retired pilot site--The person responsible
flew many hours in a DC-6 and -7 in all 3 seats. Evidently Delta has lost its
compass regarding its early growth ancestry. Not good for a historical museum.
Capt. Doug Rounds-Retired
“Today in the mail a flier arrived from
Delta soliciting donations for Bricks to be placed at the renovated Delta Flight
Museum. On the flier was a artist rendition of a DC-7. Well, the picture is not
a DC-7. It is a DC-6 with airbrush goofs. First a radar dome was airbrushed on
the regular DC-6 nose, Then three windows were airbrushed in front of the wing.
A DC-7 only had two windows forward of the wing. And the final was not
airbrushed--it featured the original DC-6 the artist began with the usual
R-2800's with 3 bladed props. Makes one wonder how much artistic license has
been taken with the rest of the museum and who the real historian is.”
