Mark,
I got the impression that there was something behind the petition effort besides relying on the good graces of management or the board or BOD. If Delta was going to take advantage of "good PR" then seems we would have had a better response to the initial effort. I do not believe the response received would have been written without the blessing of the CEO and BOD? Without leverage of some kind I would not have expected any chance of a positive outcome. At your request I and suspect others have remained silent thru this effort. Please advise if this effort is now a dead issue or a second phase is being planned? Being reasonable and professional has seldom worked with any edition of Delta management. They only respond to something that compromises corporate interests. Since they are back to receiving awards in the industry again( everything is relative!) the chance of a voluntary resolution in my opinion is unlikely. Tell me when I may be free to comment publicly again.
Thanks,
Rick Bauer

Editor: Rick, I am glad
you asked this question because you are not alone with this thought
process. First and foremost we are
asking all those chaffing at the bit to stand down for a time as we await
results from our effort. When one looks
in the quiver of weapons that retired pilots have the arrows are few and a bit
tattered. Our approach so far has been
intentional because we truly have felt that this direct appeal has not been
explored and pursued enough. Should the
door completely close on the “good graces” as you mention from the company,
than other plans may indeed be implemented.
That will depend on a lot of factors but for now please give us the time
needed before anyone attempt other avenues such as public comment. Thanks for asking this question and staying
engaged.
