Here's a little
something for those who think our military is overpaid.
This video depicts foul weather carrier operations (daytime). The radio
call, "99 taxi lights on" informs the pilots the visibility at the ship is
nil and the Landing Signal Officers need their taxi lights on to see the
jets. Keep in mind, there's no shelter from the rain for anyone working the
flight deck, and into their sodden workspace are landing 25 ton jets at 150
mph. They don't call this game for weather, lightning, darkness or
otherwise.
You can't see much until the last few seconds - then the excitement.............
