Subject: NEW DDPSA WEBSITE
Hi Mark-
Please include this information and the notice below in the next PCN.
The DDPSA website has been updated and expanded. It now includes a depth of reference material including every version and amendment to the D&S Plan dating back to its establishment in 1972. This reference material can be important because benefits under the D&S Plan generally are governed by the Plan provisions that were in effect on the pilot's Event Date (the earliest of the date of disability, retirement or death).
The website also has an interactive document entitled, "Flight Plan for the Final Flight West." When filled out, this document can be very helpful to survivors and executors. Because it is written in a editable PDF format, entries can be typed in and the document can be printed out or saved to your computer. The document also will be printed in the next edition of the Delta Golden Wings magazine.
DDPSA continues to shift its focus more towards survivor benefits as the number of survivors of deceased Delta pilots continues to increase. The Survivor's benefit under the D&S Plan is one of the major remaining benefits of pilots who retired from Delta before January 1, 2008. It is surprising how many of our retired pilots do not fully understand this significant benefit.
The website has open access and can be visited without obligation.
