Dear PCN (of over 2600 subscribers),
Half way around the world.
This issue is coming from deep inside
one of the “stans” about half way around the world. I thought I would have some time on Sunday
night to finish it up but adjusted travels took care of that plan. I apologize for the brief delay but happy to
have this out early Monday. Hope your
weekend was a good one.
$9.71 Billion dollar Revenue Delta
You no doubt have seen this quarterly
report and the strong earnings of Delta.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324110404578625740065929494.html
While there are a number of
re-investment expenditures on the horizon, the company continues to build its
strong balance sheet. The fix that Rob
Moser and his team are seeking for our Delta pilot retiree’s could be remedied
for less than one day’s revenue. The
unfairness continues so to does the effort to seek a better remedy than what
was done during re-organization.
Premium Texting charges?
This one caught me by surprise and I
suggest you check your Verizon phone bill carefully. Automatic bill pay is convenient but the
actual statement sometimes does not get properly reviewed. There is a feature called “premium texting”
that was coming in to my phone from Iheart Radio and was charging me a whopping
$9.99/mo for the privilege of getting this completely worthless text. Well, if you see a number of texts (like I
do) that come in from Verizon or various apps to promo certain features, it is
easy to miss a “premium text.” Well,
unbeknown to me, receiving these types of (almost always) unwanted texts can be
turned off, but for some reason that is not the Verizon default selection. So bottom line for that last few months I had
been getting a completely unwanted and costly text from Iheart. Needless to say the feature is now set to off
and the Iheart app has been removed.
