Subject: Is there "Comat?"

Hi, I have been retired for the last 11 years and was just wondering if Delta still allows employees or retirees to ship items ...i.e. Comat?

Thanks, Ed Geiger, Captain Retired

Hi Mark,

Here is the answer to your question.  T hx Paul

Hi Paul,

I don’t believe that this still applies, but we do have the 75% discount with FedEx that is available to employees and retirees.

Thanks,

Kelvin

Project: IGNITE pass travel poll results released

January 10, 2013

The results of Project: IGNITE’s recent DeltaNet poll on changes to pass travel policies have been tallied, and several of the proposals recommended by the pass travel working team received strong support from Delta employees and retirees.

Four of the five proposed policy changes received overwhelming support and will be implemented in the future, but because of the impact to current systems and processes the implementation date is still to be determined. That date will be communicated as soon as possible. This includes extending dependent travel privileges to the age of 24 for full-time students and children who serve in the military, alignment of travel while on approved personal leave to S3B standby priority just like all other leaves, and permitting pass riders flying on a Fly Confirmed ticket to standby for a free upgrade using their standby priority code for retirees.

However, the recommended retiree policy changes of providing an allotment of six priority standby passes that would allow them to be on the standby list ahead of other retirees and unaccompanied parents and non-dependents will not be pursued due to the high number of votes in disagreement. The feedback to date will be taken into further consideration and re-surveyed next year for a different solution to address retiree travel concerns.

Note: Retirees will have to be alert next year when Delta re-surveys for a different solution !!!!!

Subject: Pass Travel

Mark
The next time a retiree/spouse is trying to travel on a pass and is wondering why there so many S-2's on a flight the following might answer the question, active employees/spouses/dependents get 6 each per year.

S2 Priority Flight Days

December 31, 2012

Eligible employees and their spouse/domestic partner/travel companion and dependent children receive six S2 Priority Flight Days each year on your pass eligibility date (unused S2 Flight Days cannot be carried over). For those days when you want to enhance your chances of clearing the standby list, you can use the S2 standby code. Prior approval is not required, just save this standby code for when you really need it.

What happens if the S2 Priority Flight Days are exceeded by any pass rider?

If a pass rider exceeds allotments, the primary pass rider will be penalized $150 per day exceeded for domestic travel and $300 per day exceeded for transoceanic travel. Unauthorized use of S2 Priority Flight Days may also result in suspension of pass privileges and/or administrative action, up to and including termination of employment.

Who is eligible for S2 Priority Flight Days?

  • Full- and Part-Time active employees
  • Res W@H employees
  • Ready Reserve employees who have completed at least 1 year of service
  • Employees on company convenience leave (PLOC, SLIP, etc), military leave, approved short-term disability and Certified Time
  • Spouse/domestic partner of eligible employees
  • Minor dependent / full-time student children/stepchildren of eligible employees
  • Minor dependent / full-time student children of domestic partner of eligible employees
  • Parents of eligible single employees who have not designated a travel companion (see parent chart for more information)
  • Travel Companions of eligible employees (yield fare required)

Who is not eligible for S2 Priority Flight Days?

  • Employees on furlough, approved long-term disability or personal leave of absence and their eligible pass riders
  • Interns and Co-ops and their eligible pass riders
  • Ready Reserve employees who have not completed at least 1 year of service
  • Retirees and their eligible pass riders
  • Survivors and their eligible pass riders
  • Travel Option participants and their eligible pass riders
  • Parents of married employees
  • Parents of employees with a domestic partner or travel companion
  • Nondependent children
  • Buddy pass riders
