What do you know about this bill? Should the Delta retired pilots be attached to this somehow?

Congress Bill
Jake & all,
S3544 was introduced by Sherrod (OH) and co-sponsored by Schumer (NY) and Stabenow (MI). The bill died in committee with the last congress at the end of December.
HR 6404 was introduced by Tim Ryan (OH) and co-sponsored by Andrews (NJ), Kaptur (OH), Sutton (OH). The bill was referred to committee and died with the last congress.
Brown, Stabenow (Senate), Andrews, Kaptur, Ryan, and Sutton (House) were all up for re-election last November. All were re-elected with he exception of Sutton who lost to a Republican in a redrawn district, a close race.
Although the bill sounds good it had and probably has zero chance if reintroduced. Since the Delphi stock is below the price paid by the government, the government would have to kick in money to fund the Delphi retirements. In the present environment that is not going to happen.
Would seem to be a typical attempt to get votes. Bills were introduced in Sept. with the election in Nov. (Probably better not publish that, merely a personal opinion.)
We continue to look for ways to get our maximum benefit at the best cost, at present that is to continue our efforts to get the PBGC to act like a trustee.
We appreciate the input of everyone and try to chase down all leads. Will and I will be going to DC in Feb. for the NRLN conference and will be talking with congressional leaders, as always we try our best to get the attention of congress.
We thank everyone for their support and ideas,
Wendell Lewis, DP3 Trustee
