I loved this archived news story from 1934... Date: Friday, July 13, 1934
Paper: Boston Herald (Boston, MA) Page: 1
VERMONT COWS GUIDE AIRPLANES
If They’re Frightened, Pilots
Know They’re off the Course
ST. ALBANS, Vt., July 12 AP – A lot of high-priced gadgets have been devised to keep passenger airplanes safely on their scheduled routes, but Vermont’s air-minded cows are proving as good as anything.
Milton H. Anderson, chief pilot for the Central Vermont-Boston & Maine Airways, said today that when the cows were first put out to pasture early in the spring the roar of the tri-motored planes on the Boston-Montreal run sent them charging about as the big ships passed overhead.
Little by little they grew accustomed to the noise until now, said Anderson, all the pilots can tell when they’re on the regular course over the hills and valleys of Vermont without looking at an instrument or landmark.
“If the cattle are frightened, we’re off the course,” he said. “If they pay no attention to us, we’re O.K.”

Editor: David Roberts started our network's concern for those who have made their final Flight West.  Now we have a respectful and dignified site to archive, in a honoring way, those from among us who have flown west.  Carol Ann Faulkner is our incredible manager of those notices.  I view this service as one that is incredibly important to families and to our group for our departed person.  Your appreciation is representative of many who view this as an important service and I thank you for sharing it.

Mark,
I have never had the pleasure of meeting you and I wish I would have. I was in Delta class 3-70 and have been retired since 1 Feb 02. You are doing us all a wonderful service and there is certainly no reason to ever apologize. Thank you for all of your efforts on all of our behalf.
My best,
Crow

Editor: With regard to an occasional postponed issue, you are a very gracious group and I appreciate that.  I published Crow’s comments as representative from a number of you about a delay in the “periodic” issues.  Thanks.
