We got the MRI result of the final treatment of 4 months yesterday, and the Tumor is COMPLETELY GONE!!!!
Amazing Grace!!!!!!!!! I will have to return to NYC on june 2 for a week and on July 2 for a week for treatment with another chemo just to mop up any remaining cells. Then I have to return every 2 months for a checkup for a year or so. I think we can handle that.
I can't thank all of you enough for your encouragement, support and prayers. Don't stop now, there is still a ways to go! What a Marathon, the NY Marathon. And there are millions of others who run it every day!
Sloan Kettering is an incredible place! If any of you or your loved ones need treatment, you can's go to a better place. If you do let me know and I can help with lodging, info, anything you need.

Subject: Cancer
is gone.
After talking to my pulmonologist about a possible lung
transplant he told me to check out my hoarse voice. My ENT found a growth on my
larynx. This was in January 2012. After 28 radiation treatments in February and
March, I am now cancer free. Pulmonary fibrosis still a big issue.
Moral of this story is, don't smoke.

Flyzed.com
Mark,
A while back there was an information letter on a PCN -
High Life regarding the web site Flyzed.com. As I recall, the site allowed an
employee/retiree to communicate directly with the air line on which one wished
to purchase a ZED fare. The Flyzed.com site requires a user ID and password
which must be obtained from the individual's air line...in our case Delta. I
have contacted Delta's pass travel department twice and was told both times
that Delta has no such userid or password. The people at Flyzed.com have told
me that is not true. They say I am not communicating with the correct
department at Delta. I do not recall all the specifics in the information
letter so can you help me? Can you tell me which PCN - High Life the
information letter was in.
Thanks,
Don
Editor: In the past I asked any of you to email in for the login that Ted shared but for this issue I will publish Ted’s letter for any interested in using the signon for the Flyzed.com site.
See below for
FULL info from Ted. Mark
Mark,
I have been doing quite a bit of International flying as of late and have been purchasing ZED fares on other airlines. Most of the airlines of the world use a site called FLYZED.COM to show schedules, check availability for non-rev, and to list for the flights. Tried to get the USER ID and PASSWORD from Delta, but they would not give it to me.
Last time I flew on Lufthansa, the agent told me to list by using the FLYZED site. Told her that Delta would not give me the info to get on the site. She said, OK, I will give it to you.
In case anyone needs to use this useful site, the USER ID for Delta employees is DAL and the PASSWORD is 006. Hope everyone can use this information!

Airport Security Found in a Cell Phone !
When you see the pictures below, you will understand why they want
our cell phones through the x-ray machine.
Cell phone GUNS have arrived. Beneath the digital phone face is a .22 caliber handgun capable of firing four rounds in rapid succession -- using the standard telephone keypad. European law enforcement officials are stunned by the discovery of these deadly decoys.
Only when you have one in your hand do you realize that they are heavier than a regular cell phone.

RE: DALRC
and RAP
From: Denny Schmidt

Mark - I am a retired Delta ground employee and currently
am currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Delta Airlines Retiree
Committee DALRC. You may or may not be aware that DALRC was formed during the
Delta Bankrupcy to represent Delta ground personnel in the bankrupcy. However,
with the bankrupcy behind us, DALRC currenly does not have a representation
function. DALRC's current focus is: 1) to make Delta retirees aware of local and national legislative issues that may
impact retirees and provide a process (Cap Wiz) for those interested to voice their
views to their elected representatives and 2) to identify retirees through the Retiree Assistance Program (RAP), their eligible dependents
or eligible survivors who are facing financial difficulties because of ill
health and considering those peope for financial grants. All that is by way of
introduction to the purpose of this email.
The DALRC Board of Directors has begun a program we have
labeled Operation Contact. The purpose of Operation Contact is to get in touch
with as many Delta retiree organizations as possible and, at minimum, let the
other retiree groups know about DALRC and RAP but also determine if there are
any areas where our interests overlap and we can assist each other.
I am the board member who is making contact with the
Delta Pilot retiree groups and thought the best way to contact you was thru
your web site. Based on what I have included in this email, do you think the
Retired Delta Pilot Network would be interested in learning more about DALRC
and RAP? I would be happy to meet or talk with you if you have any questions.

Richard discusses refinery purchase with business media
May 3, 2012
Richard appeared on CNBC’s morning business
program, Squawkbox, this week to discuss the $150 million purchase of the
Phillips 66 oil refinery in Trainer, Pa., near Philadelphia to produce jet fuel
for Delta.
“It’s a great opportunity, because of the price
of this refinery, it’s a great asset,” Richard said. “Essentially, for the
price of a widebody airplane we can own this refinery and control much more of
our supply chain in terms of commodity costs. Generally, big ideas like this
can create a lot of value for your shareholders…. Conoco is a great steward of
their assets, and this refinery is in great shape.”
Richard detailed the supply of crude oil coming
from BP that will be used to produce jet fuel, primarily for Delta’s operations
at New York-LaGuardia and JFK.
“BP will own the crude up until the time we refine it, and then we have off-take agreements. So, we’ll go to max jet [fuel production] and we’ll produce about 50 thousand barrels a day of jet for our Northeastern operations, and then we will swap at other points in the U.S. all the other products produced with Phillips 66 and British Petroleum [BP].”
Richard said the Trainer facility should be
operational by the third quarter of this year.
“It should produce a payback within 12 months of the initial investment of about $250 million,” Richard said.
He also talked with Fox Business about the
motivation for the purchase.
“We think this is a creative way at getting at
our largest cost,” Richard told Fox Business. “Jet fuel is almost 40% of our
cost base.”
Ed, Paul Jacobson, s.v.p. and chief financial
officer, and other Delta leaders attended a press conference in Trainer, Pa.,
this week, hosted by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett, to announce the purchase of
the refinery.
“Some may say this is an unconventional move,
but I can assure you we’ve been very thoughtful about this, and we consider
this an innovative move,” Ed said.
“We’ve done this deal to pretty much permanently secure 80% of our fuel demand in the United States,” said Jon Ruggles, v.p.-Fuel. “Delta is the largest fuel consumer in the United States, the largest fuel consumer of any private entity. The facility behind me is a 185,000-barrel-a-day refinery, and through our swap agreements we’ve put in place, we’re going to consume every barrel that it produces.”
