This year’s block parties will be in Atlanta on May 19 and Minneapolis/St. Paul on June 23, and visitors will be able to check out some great wheels, tweet live about their experiences and take advantage of a photo op for their Facebook pages or tweets.

The Credit Card Cash program is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Atlanta Block Party Car Show in front of the Administrative Center during the Atlanta event and will have experts on hand to provide tips on how to get involved with the program. Delta’s Credit Card Cash team will greet employees and answer questions at the event.

Tanner Foust, three-time X Games gold medalist, two-time Formula Drift champion and host of History channel’s Top Gear USA will be a special guest at the Atlanta block party. He’ll be at the Credit Card Cash booth to talk about the cars and sign autographs.

Tanner will also serve as one of the car show judges in Atlanta and will award a trip for four people to the North America International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit next January as the grand prize for employees who enter their vehicle.

Employees who want to participate in the car show should complete the official entry form and send it to Richard “Olly” Larson at richard.a.larson@delta.com. Entrants will be accepted until the day of the show, and prizes will be awarded for multiple categories including a People’s Choice winner. All vehicle years, makes, and models are encouraged to enter.

Delta Block Party
Get social at this year's block party!

This year, employees are encouraged to “get social” at the Delta Block Parties. Look for these signs posted around the events - “Stop. Pose. Get Famous.” - identifying the perfect places to snap pics for your FaceBook Photo Albums and Tweeting. While there, Tweet-in-the-blank to complete, “#DeltaBlockParty rocks because _______.” Non-tweeters are encouraged to email photos and positive vibes about their Block Party adventures (using 140 characters or less, of course, to keep it fair) to SocialMedia@delta.com. Select photos, favorite Tweets and “Tweet-in-the-blank” submissions will be featured on DeltaNet.

Temporary reopening of GOE lot
May 10, 2012
Corporate Security will temporarily reopen the General Offices East parking lot for overflow G.O. parking only starting May 10 until after the Atlanta block party on May 19. There will be no shuttle bus service from the GOE lot to the airport during this temporary reopening. Employees wishing to park and take the shuttle bus to the airport for company business or nonrevenue travel should continue to use the lot at the former A3 building, behind the Virginia Crossings shopping area on Virginia Avenue and next to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel.

Atlanta Block Party Shuttle Bus Service
Buses marked “Block Party” will run from 9:30 a.m. ET to 5:30 p.m. ET on May 19 between the South Terminal lower level baggage claim area at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to Delta’s General Offices World Headquarters.
