Scrubbed- SAFE from Malware:
If you see this alert: “Malware on this site!” The blog is safe, I
have screen it with 3 separate programs and the alert is caused by google’s
tentacles only.
On occasion when I load the High Life
Blog I get and have heard that you get an alert “Malware stopped”. Well, a couple of things.
- Now passing
along a virus or malware from a post is not out of the question, but what
I do to protect against that. I run all posts through my own antivirus
then depend on Google itself to
monitor its own blogspots. They do a good job. If infected our blogspot will go down
offline and will have to deal with it then before it can go live again.
- Secondly,
if that doesn’t work I depend on your computer protection. Most Antivirus programs now scan your
pages you browse in your browser, which includes our blog. That is good because on a blog a problem
can come from a post that is a forward from a contributor. So your own Anti-virus will prevent should
any potential malware from having its effect. If you are interested in another level
of protection, here is a service that scours web pages and lets you know
if they are safe: http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/
- Next, I
respond to issues that your bring up to me. Already spent time reviewing our site
and through 3 separate programs our blogspot has been deemed clean. So I know it is un-nerving when you see
an alert, but from out
- In
addition, Google itself has some info collecting activities that some
antivirus programs deem as malware.
When visiting out site, I will try like crazy to keep malicious malware
off of it, but I must say I cannot stop google from doing its thing. If google at some point gets too
intrusive or out of line I will look for another outlet for our
newsletter.
- Finally,
when I publish, I always load and review the blog and the google docs
version of the High Life before I send out the alert that it is
ready. If a problem crops up on my
review, I will hold the publishing until cleared up.
Fair enough?

Format
background:
I apologize that a few of you are not
seeing the blog as intended. Believe me
the text is not supposed to be hard to read on dark background or mixed with
the cloud picture. The blog requires the
latest and greatest browser updates and Java script to read it properly. Please update or try it in the Firefox
browser and try it again. It should be clear and formatted with a pleasant
look.

Rash
of hacked emails being received.
I don’t know what is happening lately
but a number of our members are sending me faux emails with back links. As a rule for me I never open any suspicious
link inside an email unless there is a
personal “signed” message with it.

Mark,
I thought
we were exchanging private e-mails. I did not want nor expect you to
make my private e-mail public.

I included the comment from PT for
instructional purposes. Ladies and gentlemen, I compile and edit a
group newsletter. If you send it in, please
make the assumption that you wish it
to be shared. I will and do respond to
private emails. If any email is for my eyes only, that is fine but please
make a clear indication that you do not wish it published in the subject line. Thanks.
